March Favorites 2013......

Happy Easter everyone!!

I hope that you all had a lovely time with your families.
March is one of my favorite months of the year and I am always sad to see it gone.

That said, this March really hasn't been like most what with all the snow and strange weather that we have had in the UK. Where has Spring gone??

I had some gorgeous beauty favorites this month, I have enjoyed popping a little bit of colour into my daily look.

I have rediscovered some old favorites as well as some new ones.

What have you loved this month?

Rimmel Scandaleyes, The other colours.......

So back at the beginning of the month, I shared with you my love of the Rimmel Scandaleyes shadow sticks. You can see the post here.

I have been so impressed with them that I decided to pick up the other two colours in the range when they were on offer in Boots recently.

Blackmail and Tempting Turquoise

I have been wearing both these colours since I got them an awful lot. The Tempting Turquoise is probably my all time favorite turquoise pencil. I have worn it on most nights out recently, if you follow me i=on instagram you will off seen it a good few times.

As I said before Im so pleased to of found a product I love from Rimmel, I hope its the sign of things to come for me!!!!

Rimmel Scandaleyes...............

As some of you may or may not know I have a love hate relationship with Rimmel products. I so want to love them but so many times I am left cold.

So you can imagine my reaction to finding a product that I really do love from Rimmel.

I picked up the ScandaleEyes cream shadow pencils around the time of the Apocolips launch.

Bulletproof Beige, Bad Bronze and Paranoid Purple.

The cream shadow pencils come in the familiar packaging of the NYX Jumbo pencils. A chunky pencil that can be sharpened with a large pencil sharpener.
I love the fact that the ends of the pencils are color coordinated to the shade making them easy to pick out if you store them standing up in jars.

Bad Bronze, Paranoid Purple and Bulletproof Beige.

I have found the pencils to be super pigmented and very long lasting. They are nice and soft to apply and don't drag or pull on the delicate skin around the eyes.

They work excellently both as a shadow base as well as a lower lash line shade. Bulletproof Beige has become my inner eye highlight of choice. They don't run or smudge and really do give a great long lasting finish.
I personally prefer these to the NYX Jumbo pencils as I find you get little of no creasing with these.
The only fault is that at the moment there are just 5 shades, something I'm sure may change in the future.

The pencils cost £5.99, a great price I think for such a versatile and brilliant performing product.

Have you tried Scandale eyes Cream shadow sticks?

What do you think?

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, not for me I'm afraid...................

I thought I would share with you the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation today.
I have been using this for a few weeks now and feel I can give a fair and honest review.

I got the shade 400 Natural Beige, this is an ideal colour for me when I have a little self tan on, I was thinking ahead to Vegas when I choose the shade. I would say that it is only 1 or 2 darker than my normal shade so is ideal to mix if I want to.

My first impressions of this have changed in the couple of weeks I have had to use it.
However I really cant decide if I like this foundation or not. It is said to be long lasting, up to 10 hours, but even with a primer I find that after 4 or 5 hours its looking uneven and patchy on my skin.

It has a full texture, not watery at all and offers buildable coverage, light all the way to full cover. Sounds good. I find that if I do apply a little more to my skin, that it sits in my pores and looks dry and clogged. Not something I want from a foundation.

I so want to love this foundation, it has everything I look for, long lasting, light to full coverage, light reflective particles, pore smoothing, line filling and Vitamins too.

But it just doesn't suit my skin. Do you know how to make this work for me? I am disappointed as this is the first Rimmel foundation I have tried. Which ones do you think are there best?

What are your favourite foundations?

A Latino Lovely.................

Just thought I would share this beauty of a lipstick with you today.
This is Latino one of the Moisture Renew range from Rimmel.

The moisture renew lipsticks are some of my favourite from Rimmel, they leave my lips feeling soft and smooth and the colour lasts really well.
Latino is a soft pearl rose pink. It applies really smoothly and gives good pigmentation without looking heavy.

This is a great every day colour that's super easy to wear and goes with everything. Perfect to chuck in your handbag for freshen ups on the go. I'm looking forward to wearing it with a tan in the summer too :)

What are your favourite lipsticks at the moment?

October Favourites.............

So here are my little late October Favourites. I had alot of the same as the last few months, and so I have left those bits out.....

The Makeup

Chanel Fauve eyeshadow: This has been my go to eye shadow, it looks fantastic as a liner, all over the lid or just in the socket, it really is sooooo versatile.

Revlon Colourstay Foundation: I have been loving this full cover foundation because it just lasts all day and applied with my ELF stippling brush, looks soft and not to heavy at all.

MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack: One of my favourite gel liners, love this in the water line, lasts all day.

Sleek Pout Paint in Pinup: This has been my favourite shade of Red, I tried several for Red October, , this to me is the perfect glamorous Red

Jane Iredale Last Extender: This product is just amazing, I really cant recommend it enough, to see my full review click HERE.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara: I bought this as it is one of the new generation of Mascaras that promises to add growth. I have used this all month long, and if I'm completely honest, I have noticed a difference, particularly on my lower lashes. Aside from that, I really like this mascara as it has a small compact brush that lifts and separates the lashes beautifully.

Daniel Sandler Eye Delight Loose Eye Shadow in Peach: This came in the Carmine Box and has quickly become a favourite. The shadow has a beautiful finish to it and is great as an all over colour, brow bone highlight or you can use it with a large fluffy brush and run it along the tops of your cheek bones for a instant glow, fantastic product.

Fauve and Peach

You all know I am a massive fan of Soap&Glory products, and this is no different. Catch a Wrinkle is a nourishing day cream ( can also be used at night) that doesn't leave my combination skin feeling shiny or greasy. I love this and will definitely be repurchasing.

Haircare

Umberto Giannini Backcomb In A Bottle: This stuff is AMAZING!!!! I found out about it from The gorgeous Cara on her blog. I am going to post a full review on this product in the next couple of days, keep posted.

VO5 Ultimate Hold Hairspray: This is a fab hairspray, it holds amazing and brushes out nicely too.

TRESemme Instant Refresh: This is my favourite Dry Shampoo EVER, it adds volume, smells lovely and gets rid of my greasy Roots, what more could I ask for. To see my full review, Follow the link HERE.

So those are my favourites for October, what have you been loving???

New Rimmel Lippies..........

These are a couple of Lipsticks I picked up about 3 weeks ago ( before my spending ban lol).
I have been totally loving Lipstick recently and they have quickly become my impulse buy.
These 2 are part if the Rimmel Moisture Renew range, and I must say I'm very impressed so far....

L to R
Vintage Pink NO 180 and Latino NO 200

Vintage Pink

Latino

I have found these to be moisturising and long lasting, I'm really pleased with them.
As you can see they have a sheen but are not too glossy which is good, I'm liking more of a matte finish too at the moment.

What Lipsticks are you loving at the moment??

Red October.................

As I have mentioned more than once recently, I am loving lipstick at the moment.
Something which often stumps people, me included is the perfect Red lipstick. Because of this I have decided that I am going to do a series of 'Red October' posts, looking for my favourite Red Lipstick.

Today's post is about the much talked about Kate Moss for Rimmel range.

Lasting Finish By Kate Shade 01

Now I personally think this is the colour most people will think of when you talk about Red Lipstick. Its a true red that has depth and not a hit of orange.
I find the texture of these lipsticks means that they apply best with a brush, letting you get that perfect lip line. I must admit that I did after wearing this for a day find that my lips felt a little on the dry side, nothing that couldn't be fixed with a bit of Carmex tho.

I do think that the heart is a better representation of the colour than the lip swatch, its what I would call a blood red, or the colour my lips go when I chew on them ( I only do this when I'm nervous....eeek)

All in all I quite like this lipstick I wont be rushing out to try the other 'Kate' colours, this is for a couple of reasons, I'm not really a fan of long lasting lipsticks and the other colours, none of them spoke to me. lol.

The Kate collection of Lipsticks cost £5.49 and are available from your local Rimmel stand.
