Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer...........

I am a massive fan of foundation primers. Having combination skin means that I can end up with my foundation slipping, especially in warmer weather or humid conditions.

My current favorite is the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer.

What I like about this primer and what makes it a little different to others is the texture.
It isnt the usual silicone based primer, it has more of a creamy texture that feels more like applying a dry moisturizer.

I find that the primer leaves my skin with a lovely matte finish, it also makes an imperfections look less obvious. It doesn't cover them by any means just somehow disguises them.

You dont need to leave any time in between applying the primer and your foundation, I always apply mine straight away. I like that there is no dilly dallying around and that I can get on with my makeup routine.
My foundation applies smoothly over the primer, with no dragging or patchiness.

I find that with the primer my foundation really will last all day, no matter how hot or bothered I get. As I have said before, I work in a hair salon and it gets very hot and humid, even in the winter months, with this primer tho, its never a problem.

The primer costs £11.99 from drugstores, a fair price in my opinion. Even tho it is on the higher end of what we would expect to pay for a drugstore primer, it really delivers quality and results of a much more expensive product.

What are your favorite Primers? Have you tried this one? What do you think?

Me Me Me Seventh Heaven....................

I had seen the Me Me Me Seventh Heaven Moisturising Face Base several times when I popped into my local Superdrug, Unfortunately the samples either had always dried out or were missing so I had never really paid that much attention to the product.
Back IN December I received this deluxe sized sample in my Glossy Box.

Seventh Heaven had always left me a little confused, was it a primer or a moisturiser?
The answer is it does both!!

You apply this light weight cream as your moisturiser. Its very nourishing and has Shea Butter amongst its ingredients. It also promises to even out, brighten and rejuvenate your skin thanks to its active enzymes.
I for one am totally flabbergasted by how lovely this product is.
My foundation applies beautifully when I have used this and stays put throughout the day.

I really am enjoying this product and will definitely be buying the full size jar when I have used this up.

My only fault would be the fragrance. Its very citrus (Lemon, Orange, Lime and Mandarin). I personally adore the scent, its fresh and doesn't hang around on the skin after you have applied it to your face. For some tho, I can totally see why it would be off putting.

Seventh Heaven Moisturising Face Base costs £15.00 and is available to buy from Me Me Me Online or from Selected branches of Superdrug.

What do you think of the face base? Have you had good results?
Do you like me love the fragrance??

New CiD cosmetics, some gorgeous goodies..................

All the way back at the start of December the Lovely Mikey sent me some amazing products from New CiD to try as he knew how much I loved the iPout Lippy that I had received in my Carmine Box.
You can check out Mikey's website HERE .

So let me show you what lovely items I have got. I waited till now to do this post so that I have had a good chance to try out the products.

Doesn't the packaging just seduce you at first sight?!!?! I know it does me!!

First up the I-Pout Lip Stick in Dusk

These lip sticks are just beautiful, the moisturise my lips and leave them feeling soft and hydrated. The colour pay off is fab, and as for the gorgeous little light and built in mirror, they are just a bonus to an already great product.
The Lipsticks cost £15.00, for a high end Lippie I think this is a good price. Especially as the quality is so high.

I have done a Lip swatch of this and will pop it up later for you.

I-Prime Foundation Primer.
Now this I was really excited about. I really enjoy using primers but I find so may just do the opposite of what they should do and make my foundation slip straight off and in turn give me a very shiny appearance.
Well not with this. The texture is more of a serum that instantly feels light on the skin. It smooths my skin and makes my foundation blend on beautifully. I find that I also get great staying power from my foundation with this. A fantastic product that I will definitely repurchase.
It costs £27.00

L To R
I-Glow Compact Shimmer Powder with Mirror in Sirocco
&
I-Bronze Compact Powder Bronzer with Mirror in Rio

Are these just not beautiful to look at?? The compacts are stunning and would look beautiful in any ones handbag.
Starting with the I-Glow, this is a beautiful light weight highlighter that gives a radiance to the skin. I have used it along my cheekbones for instant light. Its a baked powder and super soft and silky. This works beautifully as a brow highlight too.
Sirocco costs £22.50

Now on to I-Bronze in Rio. Again this is a baked powder. Whats gorgeous about this bronzer is that is has pinks, beige's, brown and golds all marbled through, this means that you don't get that dreaded 'Orange' look. It warms my skin so well and ha little or no shimmer of note meaning that you could also contour with this.
I must admit that I am a little bit in love with this, its just so so pretty to look at as well as being a fab bronzer.
Rio costs £22.00

Dusk I-Pout, Sirocco I-Glow and Rio I-Bronze.

I am going to do a face of the day so that you get to see these products better.

So what do you think?? Have you tried New CiD? What are your thoughts??

You can get any of these items from www.newcidcosmetics.com at there on line shop.

No 17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer.........

I had seen this primer on a few blogs and all the recommendations say how great it is. I was warned by some of the gorgeous blogger girls that it can be hard to get hold of so after 1 failed attempt at getting hold of it, I was chuffed last week when it was in stock.

I have used it a few times now as I wanted to be able to do a review for you.
The Primer cost £4.99 and is available from Boots both online and in store.

Being only £4.99 I was sceptical to say the least to use this primer. Its a clear silicone primer that fills pores and prepares the skin for foundation.

It blends into the skin easily and effortlessly. I have combination skin and can find some primers make my foundation slip, especially in warm weather. Although my foundation glides over this, i did find that I needed to touch up my makeup slightly more than normal. My makeup did last but in all honesty no more so than normal or when I use my BB cream as a primer.
I think this will be better suited to my skin in the winter.
In texture it is very similar to the Smashbox foundation primer, a almost gel like texture that feels dry on the skin.

I will use this product, as I said more so in the colder weather.
At £4.99 I think its a fab buy if you have never used a primer before or are worried on splurging on an expensive primer with no knowledge of what to expect.
Will I repurchase.......I'm not sure, it will depend on how I feel when it runs out.

The BB cream Buzz...........

In the beauty world, over the past say 6 months there has been a new kid on the block in the guise of BB cream. I have heard so many of the Youtube beauty gurus talk about it that i have been dying to get my hands on some and give it a try!!!

Its notoriously hard to get hold of here in the UK so i spent alot of time and energy finding an Ebay shop based in Korea with 100% feedback. When i found one i was pleased with i took the plunge and bought one.

I didn't get the the skin79 BB cream in the pink canister as the reviews have always said it is a lil on the grey side, and having an olive skin tone i didn't want to get it only to find it left an ashy tone on my face.
I instead opted for the MISSHA Perfect Cover BB Cream in shade 23. I decided to pick this one as it has a slightly darker tone and a little less grey.

As you can see from the above swatch, it is more of a pink tone, i was really pleased with the colour choice as my skin with its olive tones can sometimes look a little sallow (mostly in the winter) so the pink tone warms up my skin nicely.

The official website says...
The M Perfect Cover BB Cream gives an even and natural-looking coverage with the soothing, moisturising properties of a cream. It is suitable for all skin types including acne-prone skin, and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.

Whitening + Anti-Wrinkle + UV Protection (SPF 42 PA+++)

I would have to agree with their claims that it gives a natural cover, for me tho i think i could wear this with just a little powder and would feel confident.
At the moment my skin is a little to dark to be able to just use this, so because of that i am using it as a foundation primer ( I ran out of my Mac PREP & PRIME) and loving the results.
Have you tried BB cream?? What do you think?
Does it live up to the hype?
I would have to say YES!!
