Lush Fresh Face Masks...........

If you follow me on twitter or YouTube, you will oh heard me moaning about the state of my skin since December. I really don't know what has happened but it has gone totally haywire.

I talked about Steam Cream and Trilogy Rose hip oil in My January Favorites  and although these have gone some way to help, my skin is still in a sorry state.

I decided that I would like to give a couple of the Lush Face Masks a go as I have heard lots of good things and love the idea of using all natural products on my skin.

So off I trotted to my local lush to pick up some skin treats. Here is what I got...

Love Lettuce was my first pick, especially as it is fragrance with French Lavender and I love all things Lavender scented, the added bonus is Lavender helps balance the skins oil production.
It has a firm gel like texture that spreads easily over the skin. It also has Fullers Earth in the mix, Ideal for oily skins as it absorbs excess sebum. This mask also has ground almond shells to exfoliate away dead skin cells and brighten the skin.

Next I choose Catastrophe Cosmetic. This has a much firmer texture, it feels almost like a clay and has a light fruity fragrance.
I picked this as it is packed with Blueberries, a rich antioxidant. Just what my skin needs. It also has calamine to help sooth the skin, with chamomile to take away redness and calm.
It is also deep cleansing, ideal for regular use and wont leave the skin feeling tight or uncomfortable as it also includes Almond oil.

I decided that I wanted to used these masks in conjunction with one another, and that is what I have been doing for the 3 weeks I have had them.

First I use Love Lettuce to leave my skin fresh and bright thanks to the exfoliating action of the almond shells, ideal for absorbing vitamins and minerals.
Then I apply Catastrophe Cosmetic for a deep cleanse and antioxidant boost.

I have also used both the masks individually, but ultimately my favorite is to use them together.
I love how soft and smooth my skin feels after. Redness is reduced and I definitely notice my skin has a brighter appearance the next morning.

The masks cost £5.95 and need to be kept in the fridge as they have fresh ingredients.

Although my skin has a long way to go, I am seeing a real improvement and Lush skin care is something that I will be looking into more.

What are your favorite Lush masks?

Lush Vitamin Tabs..................

I have really been suffering with my skin at the moment. All this cold weather and central heating are drying my usually combination skin out like you wouldn't believe.

I remembered that I had these LUSH Vitamin tabs that I had bought before Christmas in my bathroom cabinet and thought Id give them a go.

I had two, the Vit E and Vit C tablets.

The Vit E Steamer Tab is designed to be moisturising whilst the Vit C is to brighten and energise.
The Steamer Tabs are packed full of essential oils and vitamins. The steam delivers all the goodness into your skin.

I decided that I wanted to use the steamer tabs together for a double wammy.
You simply drop them into a bowl of hot water and watch them fizz away, almost like mini bath ballistics!!!
The fragrance that hit me was amazing. I steamed my face with a towel over my head for about 10 minutes. I found it really relaxing which I must admit I found surprising.

When I had finished I gently patted dry my skin and applied my usual moisturiser. I found that because my pores and skin was so fresh and open that my moisturiser glided over my skin and absorbed pretty instantly.

The Vitamin Steamer Tabs have definitely helped my skin and are something I will definitely do again.

They cost just 0.75p each from LUSH and feel like a much more expensive treat.

Have you every tried the Steamer Tabs???

Guest Blogger..... Grace from Glitter & Carousels

Yayyyy Im back in the land of the internet :)) And to celebrate my first post is going to be part of a new series I am going to be running from time to time.

I am going to be featuring Guest Bloggers and asking them to do a post of their choice to share with you all. Today, and my first post is from the beautiful Grace from Glitter & Carousels.

Thanks so much for being my first Guest Blogger Grace, Its fab!!!!
So without further ado.....its over to Grace...

Hi everyone! Today I'm taking over Maria's blog for a cheeky little guest post! I'm Grace from Glitter and Carousels.
Some of you may know me but some of you might not!

Today I'm going to review a product from one of my most loved brands ever, LUSH. I was having a quick little browse in LUSH on Saturday and wasn't really expecting to buy anything but one of the LUSH staff came over, as they do, and started telling me about a Bath Ballistic called Golden Wonder which is from the Christmas range. Being the child that I am, as soon as I hear Christmas i'm on it like a rash. Before I knew it Golden Wonder was on my way home with me.

As you can see the Bath Ballistic doesn't exactly look like the most amazing thing in the world from these pictures but it's so much prettier in the flesh! A Bath Ballistic is basically just like a bath bomb, it makes your bath a lot more enjoyable, pretty and even more relaxing. I think the 'Ballistic' part is because when the Bomb is dropped into the bath it literally goes mental! Golden Wonder did just that as soon as I dropped it in the bath.

When you pick up Golden Wonder, you can hear something shaking inside. I was most excited to find out what it was and now I know! Inside, you'll find some brightly coloured bath bombs, lots of star sequins and loads and loads of gold shimmer. The gold shimmer stays throughout the whole bath and it's actually mesmerising to look at. I wouldn't say Golden Wonder has an overly powered scent like many of other LUSH products. It's just nice and well, christmassy! At £3.25 this is a little pricey to use for every bath time but I think it's forgiving as a little treat every now and then!

Have you tried it? Will you be trying it?

Thanks again to Maria for letting me take over her blog! I hope you all liked my post and I wasn't too boring! Thanks for reading! :)

Grace x

Woop Woop Lush has arrived :)))).............

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy, our new Lush store finally opened this week :))
Its fair to say I'm a little excited!! I have loved lush since i was bought a gift set a few christmas' ago.

So to celebrate the opening, i thought it was only fair that i do a lil haul, hehe. In fairness i had nothing left from my last Lush shopping trip so it was needed, hehe.

I'm starting with the Bubblebars i got...

The Comforter (£3.99, 200g)
Ive never had this one before, it was the gorgeous berry colour that made me pick it for a smell, and believe me it smells Divine. It has cassis and promises creamy bubbles, and pretty pink water :))

Next...

Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds (£3.99, 200g)
Ive had this Bubble bar before and i really love it. It has a patchouli and frankincense smell and lingers in the bathroom the next day....beautiful.

Now some of the famous bath bombs...

I cant remember what this one is called, its just soooo cute tho, hehe.

Twilight bath ballistic (£2.99)
Ive had this one before too, its amazing, its like a comforting bed time drink that leaves me de stressed, relaxed and ready for bedtime :))

Space Girl (£1.90)
These Space Girl Ballistics are just so cute and fun for a night out as they have a little glitter in them. The fragrance is blackcurrant, sweet and fun.

Lastly a couple of bits Ive not tried...

I bought one of the sugarlip scrubs on my last out of town trip to Lush, i was devastated when i got home and realised that i hadn't put it in the bag :(( So here we have lipscrub take 2. (£4.95)
The small round tablets on the left are clensing tabs, i got one in vit C and one in vit E( 0.75p each), you dissolve them in  a bowl of hot water and steam with them, ill be interested to see how they fair...
And lastly one of the little Charity tin hand creams (£1.00)

So now i have my lovely new shiny LUSH store in town, no more trapsing to here and there to get my bits.

Do you have any recommendations of things you think i should try??

Check out LUSH at

Mwah for now,
