UK/US Beauty Swap with Her Late Night Cravings

Hey Everyone!! H|ow are you all doing? Great I hope! Haven't we been lucky with the weather here the last few days in the UK, I hope that you are all getting a chance to enjoy the sunshine.

Enough about the weather, on to today's post.  I have been lucky enough to take part in a beauty swap with the beautiful ladies, Jayme & Mendi over at Her Late Night Cravings.

Now these two girls are amazing!! Their videos and blog posts always brighten up my day, and it was them that made me brave enough to take the YouTube plunge a year ago.

So a couple of months ago, we started emailing and chatting about doing a beauty swap, like the girls, I cant remember how it came up, but I am so so pleased it did. I have loved the whole process of chatting, getting to know the ladies, shopping for them and finally sending and receiving parcels.

Our boxes arrived last week ( I was so excited when I came home to it on Thursday!!) We both decided to film unboxing videos, it was seriously like Christmas. I was so lucky, the girls picked out beautiful items for me that we can not get here in the UK, and if you watch my video, you will see, I was more than a little excited!!lol.

I really can not say thank you enough to you both, I am so lucky to of made friends with you beautiful ladies and had the chance to do this with you :)

Please if you are not already subscribed ( Im sure you are!!) check out Jayme and Mendi's YouTube Channel Here. Seriously, you will love them!!

Also If you would like to see what I picked out for them, please follow the link below....

Happy Hump day everyone!!!

Maybelline Diamond Glow Coral Drama.....

Maybelline is a brand that I have only really experimented with over the 18 months or so.
I love there color Tattoos, mascaras and lipsticks. I'm also a fan of a couple of their foundations.

Something I had never really tried was the shadow quads. Back when it was 3 for 2 in Boots I decided to pick one up ( I was buying 2 of the new color tattoos at the time, lol)
When I saw the pretty coral, gold and bronze brown in this palette, I knew it was the one for me to try.

Coral Drama

The palette is a Diamond Glow shadow from the Eye Studio range.
It has four pretty shades, and if like me you like shimmer, these will be right up your street!

Like so mant palettes today, on the reverse is a small diagram showing you a small tutorial on where they think the shaodws work best etc. I never really follow these, but if you are a makeup newbie or just plain scared of eye shadow, then this really is a handy little help.

These shadows are really nicely pigmented, I must admit I'm really very impressed, they have surpassed my expectations.
They are lovely in texture, quite buttery and don't have too much fall out.The lightest shade is probably the weakest in the palette, I however found that for a inner corner highlight it offers more than enough pigment.

My favorite shades in the palette are without a doubt the darkest two, the beautiful coral and darkest bronzed brown. They look super pretty.

I paid £7.19 for this shadow, and although that is a little pricey for a drug store shadow, I do think they are worth it.

Have you tried the Diamond Glow shadows yet??

February Favorites 2013 and a fail................

How excited am I that Spring is on the way!!!
I really am pleased that its time for February Favorites as it means that Spring is nearly here.

I have had a complete skin care over haul this month, although I was seeing some improvements, it wasn't enough, so I got some advice and have started using Avene.

As well as lots of favorites, I do have one fail this month, maybe its something you can help me with?

What have you been loving this month???

5 Beauty picks for 5 pounds and under............

I thought it might be fun to show you five of my favorite products that cost £5 and under.

I like most beauty lovers am a fan of high end products, I also love lots of products from the drugstore. I dont see the point in paying a high price for a product if there is an identical one or better for a lower price.

Here are my picks.

My 5 picks are...
MUA 12 Shadow palette
NYC Showtime Mascara
Collection Gel Liner
Sleek Blushes
Barry M Nail polish

What do you think of my choices?

Bare Minerals READY Eyeshadow 2.0..........

I love a good old blog sale, I really do. Especially when I find products that I have been dying to try.

I was so happy when I saw this Bare Minerals palette over on Alices blog (Bright town Girl, you must check her blog out!!)  it is something I have wanted to try for ages.

The READY Range from Bare Minerals is a collection of pressed products including eye shadows, skin veils, foundation, bronzer and blush.

The Top Shelf Palette

L To R
Mixologist and Cognac

These shadows are super pigmented and have really impressed me. They have an almost creamy texture, blend beautifully and last all day.

Mixologist and Cognac

I love the payoff from just one swipe of a finger or brush. Cognac is a beautiful antiqued gold shade, a color I have been loving recently.
The packaging is the rubberized compact that has become famous thanks to NARS. It also has a great sized mirror in the compact, making it ideal for travel.
The duo shadows normally cost £19.00, in my opinion a great price for the quality and pigment of the product.

I put a video together of a look I have been wearing featuring these beautiful shadows.

Have you tried the ready shadows from Bare Minerals? What colors do you recommend?

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Mirfique..............

Chanel is a brand that I adore, I don't have a local counter which is probably a good thing for my purse.

I have had these pictures saved for this post since long before Christmas, I like to photograph my products before I use them as I think they just look prettier, lol.
I picked up Mirfique in November as I thought it would be perfect for the festive party season.
It is part of the Illusion D'Ombre range and is a pretty black with tiny sparkles.

This is the 2nd Illusion shadow that I have tried from Chanel and I love the formula of these long lasting shadows. They have a formula that is in between a cream and a mousse.
They feel exceptionally light and don't crease.

Mirfique works fantastically in so many ways and it very versatile. I have used it as a liner for a soft black look with a pretty sparkle and as both a lid and crease colour.
If I use it as a lid colour I have enjoyed layering it over Blackground paint pot from MAC to make it super black and dramatic.

So if you are looking for a little piece of Luxury with some sparkle, these shadows may be for you!!!

Arabic Inspired Sunkissed party look.........

Hi everyone!!!

How are you all today??
Fab I hope!! I wanted to share with you my look for the Sunkissed Party competition.
I decided that I wanted something a little different from the norm and went for an Arabic inspired eye, with dewy skin and a rosy glow.

For this look I used the Sunkissed palette and the Giant Bronzer.
In addition to this I used my foundation, Concealer, black gel eye liner and brow products.

The shadows blend beautifully and are super pigmented, I really enjoyed using them.

You can see them in action in my tutorial below....

I love the depth of the colours and the way they work together, the palette makes it easy to coordinate your look.

Sleek Respect Palette.......

Sleeks latest offering in Partnership with PPQ is the Shangri-La palettes.
There are two in the collection, but it was the respect palette that grabbed my attention with its mix of warm pinks and corals, deep plum and gorgeous neutrals all in a mix of shimmer and matte shades.

As always the palette is a sleek black matte finish with a large mirror.

The shades in this palette are just stunning, I love the mix of bights and neutrals allowing you to do everything from a classic day time look to something more creative and festive. The pigmentation of the colors is second to none in both the shimmers and mattes. They are long lasting and I have no problems with creasing.
I also love that I can wear the coral shades as blush making it an ideal palette fro travel.

I really do think that this is one of the prettiest and user friendly palettes that Sleek has made in a long time and for me is a winner all the way.

I picked mine up in Superdrug for £7.99, if your local branch is sold out tho, it is still available from Sleek online in a special two part set with the Matt lip color in Jazz for £11.99.

Would you like to see a tutorial with this palette?

Pink Gold Colour Tattoo.......

I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted a picture of this on Instagram a few weeks back.
A new colour tattoo from Maybelline in the shade Pink Gold.

I am a real fan of the Colour Tattoos, although I do think that they are not quite as fab as there big brothers, Paint Pots from MAC, at £4.99 each they are a super affordable and a great way to experiment with colour.

The pink gold is a completely different colour for me, but following my recent love affair with all things rose gold, I knew I would love it.

On the left is a un blended swatch, and to the right sheered out.

I have worn this paint pot twice since I took these pics to share with you ( I like the products to be all neat and tidy in photos, OCD I know lol) and I am really enjoying it. It adds a lovely warmth to shadow and a really pretty finish when blended out across the lid alone.

What do you think?

Will you be trying Pink Gold?

MAC's Pressed Pigments........

I haven't seen very much in either the press or on blogs about the Pressed Pigments from MAC..
From the little that I have heard people can either take them or leave them.

Having picked one up, I am definitely in love with these little pans of sparkly heaven!!

The main complaint that I have heard is about the fall out, this for me isn't a deal breaker, using loose pigments always results in fall out for me any way.

I chose the shade Day Gleam, its a stunning golden shade with soft glitter and sparkle running throughout.
If you look at the website, MAC has provided 6 Limited edition shades, each matching to one of there standard range of foundations.
Day Gleam is NC30.
They also explain that these lil pots can be used both dry for a sheer shine or wet for a more dramatic finish.

Mac also suggests that these are highlighters, I personally am going to be using mine as a shadow.

The only down side is that you get just 3g of product and at £16.50 they are a little on the steep side price wise when you think that for the MSF in Soft & Gentle you get 10g for £21.50, three times the amount for just £5.00 more.

Price and fall out aside, I am really enjoying this product, I may even check out some of the other shades..... hehehe.

They are available both instore and On line.

Have you tried these?
What do you think?

New Launches from FashionistA, Blush, bronzer and shadows.........

FashionistA have recently added to there fantastic line of blushes and eye shadows. In addition to new merged shadows and blush, we also now have the added bonus of bronzers.

All of which fit into the custom palettes offered to us by FashionistA.

The bronzers come in both shimmer and matt formulations

Barcelona

Barcelona is a pretty creamy bronzer. There are no orange tones in this bronzer at all, it can also be used as a highlight, giving a lovely golden glow to the skin.

Paris

Paris is the perfect matt shade bronzer, ideal for contouring and adding that sunkissed look to the cheek bones and nose.

London

I make no secret of the fact that I am a blusher addict, and this blush has really grabbed me. It is a beautiful pinky coral with a hint of shimmer. I have worn this blush non stop since I received it. It look fab with a tan and gives fairer skins a lovely warmth.

Custom Fitted

This eye shadow reminds me of a more sparkly Sumptuous Olive from MAC.
The colours blend well to give a shimmery shadow that lasts all day on the eye lids. Warning tho, if you are not a glitter fan this may not be for you. Also, watch out for a little fall out.

Barcelona & Paris

Custom fitted & London

I for one am once again impressed with the latest offerings from FashionistA.
At just £4 for a blush, bronzer or eye shadow, they are fantastic quality for a brilliant price. I also love the way you can personalize your palettes.

FashionistA is available from Selected branches of Superdrug or On line...

Will you be picking up anything from FashionistA ( I already have my eye on the merged bronzer in Dubai!!!) lol.
