OPI Holland Collection Red Lights Ahead...Where?

Something Orange to brighten up your day......

This is Red Lights Ahead....Where from the OPI Holland collection. I really like the colour of this orange toned red, its not quite a coral and yet not a true red either. I don't like the formula tho, It was hard to apply and even with three coats still wasn't opaque.

It doesn't happen often but this polish really disappointed me :(

Have you tried this polish? Is it just me??

Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes, a review.................

One of my all time favourite Mascars is Hypnose by Lancome. I have used I don't know how many tubes of it over the years. Until about 18months ago it was all I would use. It was about this time that I started flirting with other Mascaras and brands.

Last year at one of the promotion days in Debenhams I picked up a box set of two mascaras from Lancome. One was my beloved Hypnose and the 2nd was the Hypnose Doll Eyes.

Until a few weeks ago, they have been sitting sealed in the box as I have been working my way through others.

I have been using the Doll Eyes for a few weeks now and I have to admit that I am a little on the fence about it. 

The main difference with this and the original Hypnose is the brush, Its a long cone brush designed to give the most definition to your outer lashes and the 'Doll' apperance. As brushes go, its OK, not my favourite but no where near the worse I have tried.

The main reason that I am on the fence is the formula. It is builadble which I like from a mascara and leaves my lashes feeling a little flexible which I also like. My main issue is that I have been getting terrible transfer and smudging with it.

This is something that I never have had with the original and so I am feeling a little disapointed with this mascara as a whole.

At just over £20 I dont really expect a mascara to transfer.

So for now my heart still belongs to Hypnose.

Revlon Colourstay Gel Liner..........

I'm sure you will of all noticed the way the Colour Stay range of cosmetics from Revlon has grown here in the UK over recent months. Or maybe its just me? lol.

Anyway, when Superdrug had there 3 for 2 promotion on last month, I picked up the Colour Stay Gel liner.
I am a massive fan of Revlon, they are probably my favourite Drugstore brand here in the UK, and so I was excited to try the liner out.

The liner cost me £6.99 ( Its now gone up to £8.99, It was on offer) and comes with a handy little brush in the handle. For freshening up through the day the brush is a handy little tool for makeup bags, no mess and fuss free. 

The consistency of this liner isn't to wet, I for one am a fan of this, I find that gel liners that are much harder to work with for some reason.

The colour pay off is excellent, you get a gorgeous deep solid black line that is smudge proof and in my opinion AMAZING!!!!

I really love the formula of this gel, once again Revlon have supplied a fantastic product that lives up way beyond expectations.

However, there's always a however I know, there is a MASSIVE problem with this liner.

The Packaging. Not the handy brush, as you would expect, but the actual jar. 

The opening of the jar to be precise. 

Its TINY!!!

 The size of a 5p or a dime. Totally ridiculous and really annoying. It makes getting the actual product out of the jar far to messy, fiddly and in all honesty, a complete pain in the rear.

Its so frustrating as this is such a great product that the failings in the packaging are even more annoying.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation, not for me I'm afraid...................

I thought I would share with you the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation today.

I have been using this for a few weeks now and feel I can give a fair and honest review.

I got the shade 400 Natural Beige, this is an ideal colour for me when I have a little self tan on, I was thinking ahead to Vegas when I choose the shade. I would say that it is only 1 or 2 darker than my normal shade so is ideal to mix if I want to.

My first impressions of this have changed in the couple of weeks I have had to use it.

 However I really cant decide if I like this foundation or not. It is said to be long lasting, up to 10 hours, but even with a primer I find that after 4 or 5 hours its looking uneven and patchy on my skin. 

It has a full texture, not watery at all and offers buildable coverage, light all the way to full cover. Sounds good. I find that if I do apply a little more to my skin, that it sits in my pores and looks dry and clogged. Not something I want from a foundation. 

I so want to love this foundation, it has everything I look for, long lasting, light to full coverage, light reflective particles, pore smoothing, line filling and Vitamins too.

But it just doesn't suit my skin. Do you know how to make this work for me? I am disappointed as this is the first Rimmel foundation I have tried. Which ones do you think are there best?

ELF Brow Palette..................

As you know I am a big big fan of ELF cosmetics and love lots of their items. Today's review is on the Brow Palette that I picked up in the last 50% sale.

And as much as I hate to say it, I'm a bit disappointed with it....

Palette comes with the standard wax and powder, I chose medium as although I'm a bottle blonde, my natural colour is a very dark brown and so are my brows meaning my usual shade, from Rimmel for example is soft brown.

The palette also comes with a little brush that actually isn't that bad, and for a handbag would be fine.

My problem lays in 2 areas. Firstly the colour. No matter how light handed I am this colour just ends up making my brows look almost black and really not very nice. I have tried 2 or 3 brushes, MAC , Sigma and Smashbox and none of them improve the situation. 

Second is the staying power. In short is doesn't. Not much else to say on that really, it just seem to vanish and leave my brows looking patchy. 

No I know that It may just be me that this kit isn't suitable for and at £1.75 ( Normal price £3.50) I really am not that upset. I'm sure many of you love it, unfortunately its just not for me.
