My first Celebrity make up look...........

As this is a makeup blog, I feel that Its time for me to start doing some makeup looks and tutorials.

For my first celebrity inspired tutorial I  am going to try and recreate the look of the stunning Jennifer Lopez from a recent Harpers Bazaar cover...

I think Jennifer is beautiful, I love her style and look. I chose this image as its a little different to Jennifer's usual gold, bronze smokey eye look.
I also found the matt but somehow luminous skin so amazing!!!!

This is my attempt, this is a scary thing for me, my first photos of me!!! Hehe.
Ah yes and before any one wonders, I had a bandeux dress on, lol, so I do have clothes on!!! hehe.

I Wanted to create a smooth, semi matte base so i used Revlon's Photo Ready Foundation with a little NARS Orgasm highlighter mixed through. I didn't want to use a traditional powder to set my foundation, so I decided to use the Bourjois Delice de Soleil as a bronzer as this kept the semi matte look without loosing the dewy look.

I contoured with the Bourjois bronzing powder in the hollows of my cheeks and up onto my temples. I concealed any darkness under my eyes with the Garnier Roll On and covered any blemishes with Mememe's Correct and Perfect. I used Mac Soft and Gentle MSF along the tops of my cheekbones, Accessorize Box Blush on my cheeks stopping just before my apples and then finally a dusted Macs Gold Deposit MSF over the blush and into the hollow to add that ' J Lo Glow'

I used the matt brown from Sleek Storm Palette to fill and shape my brows.
I then started with Urban Decay Primer Potion over my lid. I then used an eyeshadow from YSL, Ombre Solo in no7. to try and recreate the soft almost pale peppermint green shadow, keeping it soft and with little or no glitter.
I lined my top and bottom lash line and also both water lines. I extended the lines out slightly but did not join them as Jennifer's aren't. I did add a little of Macs Black Tied into the outer v and socket, just to add some definition. I then blended Macs Shroom up to the brow bone for my highlight.
Next LOTS AND LOTS of Mascara, I used Cover Girl Lash Blast ( I buy this on import).

And finally for the lips I used Mac Cremestick Liner in Summerfruit to line my lips and I also filled them in, I followed this with NYX Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie.

I think this is a pretty good Dupe of the Lip Jennifer has in the picture.

And that's that.....

Sorry this was a bit heavy on text......

Please let me know if you liked this post and if you would like to see more like it.....
Also if there are any looks you would like me to do.

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday!!!

Sleek Glitter Liner......

Just a quick post..

When I popped into superdrug today to pick a Ribena, I saw this sparkly little pot winking at me,
the Sleek Glitter Eye Liner in Steel.

The top is a double dip of liner and the bottom a single.

I think this will be fun for a night out, just a little bit of fun.

Have a sparklicious weekend!!!

Soap&Glory Scrub Of Your Life.........

As you are all aware I am a MASSIVE fan of Soap&Glory products, my favourite being Wish Upon A Jar , my little pot of perfection!!! Well after my success with it I started experimenting with other things from the ever growing range.
I regularly use self tanners and so am always looking for a fab body scrub that lives up to all it promises without being to harsh on my skin.

Enter, Scrub Of Your Life!!!!

I have been using this for about 4 months now (This is my 2nd tube!!) and once again, Soap&Glory have a winner in my eyes.
Its a body scrub that actually foams as you 'scrub' for want of a better word, hehe. It has a fresh fragrance that leaves the skin refreshed as the smoothing beads gently exfoliate the skin.

as body scrubs go, I am really enjoying this one. It removes all the old self tan and leaves my skin soft and smooth in the process. It also doesn't leave my skin feeling tight of dry like some others that I have tried in the past.

Soap&Glory, Scrub Of Your Life is available from
and cost £6.64.

Well done Soap&Glory, you have me hooked again!!!

Have a sparklicious Saturday!!!!

NYX HD Foundation Review.......

In my recent NYX HAUL I purchased the new HD Studio Photogenic Foundation.
I have been using it for several days now and so its time for the promised review.

I got the colour Warm Sand 07. For me this is a perfect colour. It gives my Olive skin enough warmth without having orange undertones.

The coverage is light to full depending on application. I have been wearing it as a medium cover, using a stippling brush to apply. It goes on super smooth and has a fab dewy finish.
Its worn very well for me throughout the day.

I'm very impressed with the results of this foundation and would defiantly recommend it. I love the way you can build up the coverage from sheer to full and how easily it glides on the skin.

You can see that it doesn't leave a powdery look to the skin, it looks very natural.

I'm so so pleased I bought this foundation, its gorgeous!! I had hesitated several times as I'm always a little skeptical with the promises made for HD products.

On a separate note, the HD range from NYX has so far been a real hit with me, the HD eyeshadow primer is also fantastic and works like a dream.
For the full review click HERE

So for £14.95 I think this foundation is great, its alot kinder to your purse than the Makeup Forever HD Foundation that's for sure.

If your on the hunt for a new foundation, I would say give this a go :))

Happy Saturday!!!

Nail Varnish Galore......

Whist on my lil shopping trip today, I also picked up a couple of other bits.....

From Boots i got these two No17 polishes for £5.00
Left, Bared Supreme Shine and then Nail Xtras, Crackle Top Coat.
I am going to be putting Bared into my giveaway that is starting Monday. Its a pretty neutral with a slight shimmer.
The Crackle top coat is a pale gold, so pretty, will look gorgeous over Peach.

I then popped into my local Superdrug and picked up these...

L To R
Indigo and Lemon I/C
£2.99 each or two for £4.99

Indigo is a dark purple/blue with an iridescence. Really lovely.
Lemon I/C is a cream yellow, very similar to Ciates Big Yellow Taxi.

Lastly I picked up these Me Me Me items....

Nail polish in 89 Serene(£4.50) and Long Lasting Cream eyeshadow in Azure Blue (£5.99)

I really love Me Me Me products and i cant wait to try these. I have swatched the cream eye shadow and its beautifully creamy and highly pigmented.

Here you can see a solid wipe of the doe foot applicator and on the right a blended out swatch.
I'm really excited about this!!!

Okey Dokey, this is the end of my lil haul of payday goodies....

Have you picked up anything nice this pay day???

NYX Eyeshadow Base review........

I did a post on my recent NYX haul (See here) and I promised to review some of the newer products that i hadnt tried before.

I have used the eye primers that I bought, the NYX eyeshadow base in White pearl and the NYX HD eyeshadow primer.

I have used them both a good few times now so its as good a time as any to post my feelings about them.

Ill start with the White Pearl.
This looks really lovely on its own, it has a lovely shimmer to it, and a slight white shimmer without being to over the top. It holds colour well, however I did find that my eyeshadow was creased by the end of the day. This could because of the heat at work, but I do find that with the HD (more on that in a minute) or my primer potion I don't get that.

The HD primer on the other hand doesn't crease at all, it leaves my eyeshadow looking as fresh at the end of the day as when I first put my shadow on in the morning.
Its a nude colour with no hint of shimmer or sparkle.
I am really impressed with the HD primer and would say it is comparable to the Urban Decay Primer Potion. It really is a fab find!!!

Here are some swatches
L To R
White Pearl, HD Primer

So over all I would say that the HD is the better buy, it works like a dream.
The white pearl is really pretty on its own but does have a tendency to crease.

I will re purchase the Hd I'm sure, the White pearl I will use as a sheer colour from time to time, but I cant see it becoming a favourite.

NYX Cosmetics are available from

www.nyxcosmetics.co.uk

Have you tried either of these primers?? What do you think??

Talullah Tu Gorgeousness......

While on twitter the other night,  the lovely Tanya Burr mentioned that one of the rings from her collection with Tallullah Tu was half price, I was ridiculously excited by this as i had been looking at it to buy a couple of weeks ago, whoop whoop!!!! He He.

I went straight online and ordered the ring, It has arrived today, here its is...

I love this ring, Turquoise is one of my favourite colours and this is just so pretty I couldn't resist.

As you can see it is quite large, makes my hands look diddy, hehe. It has an adjustable band and so one size fits all. Its great quality and I'm very pleased with my ring :))

It was originally £16.00 but reduced to £7.50!!! Less than half price!!!

I cant wait to wear this to work tomorrow!!!

Check out the site, they have some beautiful things, especially if you want something a little different to the usual high street stores and for special occasions.
