Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer...........

I am a massive fan of foundation primers. Having combination skin means that I can end up with my foundation slipping, especially in warmer weather or humid conditions.

My current favorite is the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer.

What I like about this primer and what makes it a little different to others is the texture.
It isnt the usual silicone based primer, it has more of a creamy texture that feels more like applying a dry moisturizer.

I find that the primer leaves my skin with a lovely matte finish, it also makes an imperfections look less obvious. It doesn't cover them by any means just somehow disguises them.

You dont need to leave any time in between applying the primer and your foundation, I always apply mine straight away. I like that there is no dilly dallying around and that I can get on with my makeup routine.
My foundation applies smoothly over the primer, with no dragging or patchiness.

I find that with the primer my foundation really will last all day, no matter how hot or bothered I get. As I have said before, I work in a hair salon and it gets very hot and humid, even in the winter months, with this primer tho, its never a problem.

The primer costs £11.99 from drugstores, a fair price in my opinion. Even tho it is on the higher end of what we would expect to pay for a drugstore primer, it really delivers quality and results of a much more expensive product.

What are your favorite Primers? Have you tried this one? What do you think?

Coastal Scents Brush Wrap......

AS a beauty blogger, from time to time I am sent items to try out and review.
I was lucky enough to be sent a 12 piece set of Coastal Scents from beautystore4u.co.uk
The set has a total of 12 brushes giving you all the brushes to complete a full face of makeup. It also comes in a leatherette style brush roll.

The brushes are made from a mixture of Goat and Sable hair ( so make sure you wash them before you use them!!) The concealer and liner brush are Synthetic fibers.

I think this palette for some one just starting out in makeup is ideal, you really do have everything that you could need for a full face of makeup. You have face brushes for powder and blush, a fan brush for cleaning up or highlighters, mascara and brow groomers and spoolies and a selection of eye brushes.

This little pencil brush is my favorite from the collection. Its super soft and blends colours on my lower lash line perfectly.

This set costs  just £9.95, and I must admit that it feels much better quality than the price tag would make you think. The brushes are soft and not at all scratchy like we would normally expect from cheaper brushes.

My only criticism would be that the leatherette pouch has that tell tale fragrance of PVC, lol. I found that once I had washed my brushes they were perfect and after leaving the pouch open on my side for a few days the smell had vanished from that too.

So if you are looking for a good quality, reasonably priced brush roll for either yourself or a gift, this is a good place to start.

Sleek Face Form Palette.......

I got a few bits this week from the Drugstore, if you follow me on Instagram ( MariaSparkle19) you will of seen the palette I am excited to share with you today.

I am talking about the Face Form Palette from Sleek, a handy 3 in 1 palette that has a Contour shade, highlight and blush all in complimentary shades.

I picked up the Light palette and I LOVE it already.

It comes in the usual sleek black matt packaging we expect from Sleek, its the same size as the Blush By £ palettes that Sleek released earlier in the year.

L To R
Contour, Highlight and Blush

Apologies for the pictures, my camera battery died and I had to get these taken before the light went, that's what happens when the clock go back!! Grrrrr, lol.

I must admit that the blush did make me gasp and I'm talking out loud!! When I saw it, its a beautiful coral with gold shimmer. It reminds me of the Sleek Rose Gold blush, just without the pink tones.
Its super pretty, and mega pigmented!!!!!!

The bronzer is a smooth matte shade, perfect for contouring, I would use this in the summer as my general bronzer too, it has no orange tones which I like.
The highlight is a beautiful champagne pink tone and catches the light, it just looks so pretty.
As you can see the blush is a gold shimmery coral, so if your not a fan of shimmer this one really snit for you.
As with all Sleek powder products, use a light hand!!!

The palette cost £9.99. A great price in my opinion as with this in your makeup bag you are ready to go. It also has a large mirror making it a great option for travel.

What do you think?
Is this palette a Do or a Don't?

For me it is a Do all the way!! I love it already....
