Illamasqua Box Lipstick......

I LOVE RED LIPSTICK.
I always have, and I'm pretty sure I always will.
Some people may think that a red lippy is a red lippy, if only they knew how wrong they are.

Finding your signature red can be like finding a needle in a haystack. There are so many different shades, finishes and tones that I think that is why so many think that red lipstick doesn't suit them, find that right one tho and you are guaranteed a glamorous look that will NEVER go out of fashion.

I for example cant wear anything with a orange base, it just makes me look urgh and my teeth look yellow.

Put me in a classic blue based red tho, and woop woop, my teeth are back to there usual shade of white (Not bright white but I must admit they are not too shabby if I do say so myself lol) and I have the glam look that I adore.

So anyway, enough waffling on , I wanted to share with you one of my current favorites, this is BOX from Illamasqua, for me a beautiful classic red.

This lipstick has a satin finish in my opinion, its not too matte but doesn't have so much shine that you run the risk of it ending up everywhere!!
Its long lasting ( I personally find red a good long lasting colour in general) and doesn't dry my lips out, a win win in my opinion.

This for me is what I see as a traditional red. Admittedly its not as blue as I would normally go for, however its a beauty of a red. I really do think that the perfect red just looks so classy and timeless.

What are your favorite red lipsticks?

Look Beauty Brow Perfect!

As I have mentioned before, I am always on the look out for something new for my brows, its almost a little obsession  lol. I always seem to go back to a pencil, but I at the same time I'm always looking for the perfect brow powder.

I really have tried them all, HD Brow kit, MUA, FashionistA, Elf, Sleek, and none of them have just that right colour for my brows. They are all either a bit too light or dark or just too orange.

So imagine my amazement when I found the perfect colour in this little beauty!!!

This is the beautiful Brow Perfect from Look Beauty, what makes it different is that it doesn't just have the usual 3/4 shades, It has 7!!!! Yes that's right girls I said 7!!!

In addition to the 7 ( Have i mentioned that they are 7 shades already??)  it has the cutest pair of mini tweezers, a double ended brush, and a clear fixing gel that in all honesty is the strongest and best brow gel I have used. I hope that they bring this out to buy separate as I'm in love with it!!!

The really handy thing with this palette tho, especially if you have perhaps over plucked or are looking to change the shape of your brows is the handy little stencils that are inside the little compartment in the bottom.

I have had a little play around with the stencils changing the shape of my brows, and when you do its amazing to see how different it can make you look!!!

I have been reaching for this palette every day in the last 3 weeks and am really enjoying it. Not only does it have a perfect brow shade for me and amazing fixing gel, the powder is far longer lasting than other brow powders I have tried.

I am still getting used to using a brush ( I only use the one in the kit for freshen ups, its too small for my prefrence) to do my brows, Would you like to see how I do them??

Now this kit is more expensive than other drugstore versions, however for me, it beats them all hands down.
The palette costs £11.99 and can be found in selected branches of Superdrug or online from Look Beauty.

So what do you think?
Have you tried this palette? What are your favorite brow products?

Look Beauty Loud Lips, Rock Candy.......

Lipstick is still a fairly new love of mine. Up until last year I was always a gloss girl with maybe a half dozen lipsticks ( Not the ones in my client kit) to my name.

I have found over the last couple of years that I love experimenting with bright colours.

A fab combo that I have been loving now for a while is the Loud Lips Lipstick and Liner in Rock Candy from Look Beauty.

I first tried this lipstick when I was sent it to try for Breast Cancer Awareness month, You can see the original post Here

This has quickly become a favorite colour of mine, I love how I can quickly brighten up my whole makeup look with that a slick of this lipstick.

The packaging is super cute on the lippy, it has a magnetic closure paying homage to that of the Burberry lipsticks, at a fraction of the price which is always pleasing!!

The lipstick is super moisturizing and creamy, meaning that you do need to reapply more frequently, however having an identical liner that I not only line my lips with but also fill in really does help with this and gives longer lasting colour.

I love the fact that the Loud Lips range has matching liners and lipsticks, it takes all the guess work out and makes picking a liner super easy.

Rock Candy

At £4.00 for a liner and £7.00 for a lipstick they are fantastic quality at a competitive price.
You can buy them from selected branches of Superdrug ( If your lucky enough to have the stand in your store!!) or Online direct from lookbeauty.co.uk

Have you got any favorites from Look Beauty, its a brand that I am loving more with every product I try!!

What do you recommend?

Ysl Rouge Volupte and Glossy Stain........

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
Hope that the start of your week has been fab so far!!
Today I have for you two lip products that I picked up last month from YSL with some of my beauty card points.

Its a new Rouge Volupte in No8 and one of there beautiful Glossy Stains in no 14.

I picked these colors as I wanted colors for the Autumn/Winter that were more rosy toned, kind of my lips but better, i'm pleased with my choices.

No 14 Glossy Stain is the brighter of the two, having worn this a few times, it comes off a little redder on me. When I took these pictures, my lips were already stained from another lippy so I couldn't do a swatch for you. Ill def get one up in the next few days.

Rouge Volupte No 8 is simply beautiful, its the perfect rosy shade for my skin tone, I also find this one to be more creamy in texture than my Lingerie Pink.  This shade is on the Christmas collection display, its not a limited edition tho, just a re promote.

No 14 and No 8

These to shades also work beautifully together, I popped a little of the glossy stain on top the other day and loved it!

I love spending my beauty points on items that I would normally not buy, and as much as I adore the YSL lipsticks, I grudge £22 ish on a lippy.

What do you like to treat yourself to with Beauty Points or Advantage card points??

MUA Shimmer Kisses Blush and Bronzer.......

As a huge fan of MUA when there is a new release I get very excited! I love how you get such great quality products at such reasonable prices.
MUA are always bang on trend and have catwalk trends long before the other brands launch products.

The products I want to talk to you about today are the Shimmer Kisses bronzer and Blush.

These two shimmer powders offer a range of uses as well as the named description of bronzer and blush.

L To R
Blusher & Bronzer

the quality of these powders makes them enjoyable to use, they are finely milled and not at all chunky or powdery.
I have found myself reaching for the Bronzer palette to use as eye shadows, the shades are lovely and neutral and give a really pretty natural eye look. The blush palette also works in the same way, although this I do prefer to use as a blush. Being a shimmer fan I do enjoy a blush with shimmer, if you like a matte finish, then these are obviously not for you.

Blush
In these swatches, I have shown each colour individually and then blended together underneath.
As you can see the pinks are cool toned, when mixed together they give a lovely glowy blush.

Bronzer
The natural tones in the bronzer shout out at me to be used on the eyes as I mentioned before. The colours when mixed on my skin tone also make a lovely highlight. If you have a fairer skin tone then this palette as long as you like shimmer would be a great place to start when looking for something to warm the skin through.

I purchased both of these palettes, I was however lucky enough to be sent a bronzer to review, so what I am going to do is have a MUA mini giveaway on my twitter and Instagram over the weekend into Monday, so keep your eyes peeled to win the bronzer and a Intense kisses gloss too!!!

You can find my Twitter and Instagram link on the Left!!

These can be bought at selected branches of Superdrug or Online here.
At £3.00 I think the price is great for such a versatile product.

What do you think of The shimmer Kisses range?

Pomegranate Punk Colour Tattoo......

As a fan of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos I do lust after the US exclusives. One that I have been wanting for a long time is Pomegranate Punk, a rich dark plum shade.
As I have mentioned before I buy from Ebay and so when I saw it for £7.00 including postage, I ordered it straight away.

Im so pleased I did, its a beautiful colour. The rich plum shade has a slight shimmer running through it that somehow makes wearable in both the daytime and evening, at first sight you may feel that this is exclusively for evenings, however as you can see from the swatches below the shimmer helps to make it day time appropriate and somewhat softer.

The colour can be built up or sheared out making it super versatile.

Since I got this it has been a firm favorite and had lots of use. Its great for warming up cooler tone shadows when you use it as a base. It really is a very pretty colour, if you are looking for a plum base this is the way to go.

Like all the colour tattoo's its long lasting and I get no creasing.

It is such a shame that this is a US exclusive as I know so many of the colour tattoo fans would love it!!!

So what do you think?
Is Pomegranate Punk a shade that you would wear?

Sleek Respect Palette.......

Sleeks latest offering in Partnership with PPQ is the Shangri-La palettes.
There are two in the collection, but it was the respect palette that grabbed my attention with its mix of warm pinks and corals, deep plum and gorgeous neutrals all in a mix of shimmer and matte shades.

As always the palette is a sleek black matte finish with a large mirror.

The shades in this palette are just stunning, I love the mix of bights and neutrals allowing you to do everything from a classic day time look to something more creative and festive. The pigmentation of the colors is second to none in both the shimmers and mattes. They are long lasting and I have no problems with creasing.
I also love that I can wear the coral shades as blush making it an ideal palette fro travel.

I really do think that this is one of the prettiest and user friendly palettes that Sleek has made in a long time and for me is a winner all the way.

I picked mine up in Superdrug for £7.99, if your local branch is sold out tho, it is still available from Sleek online in a special two part set with the Matt lip color in Jazz for £11.99.

Would you like to see a tutorial with this palette?

MAC Glamour Daze Superb and Everything That Glitters.........

Every year MAC launches a fabulous Christmas collection with everything our heart could desire. And this year The Glamour daze Collection delivers big time.

I had promised myself that I wasn't going to go mad and buy too much from the collection as I have asked for a few bits for Christmas and also, I want to show the makeup I have a little love.

There were just two things that I knew I wanted to get when the collection launched online.
1 was the Extra Dimension Skin finish in Superb that I missed out on earlier in the year, and the other was Everything That Glitters Nail polish. This is my first polish from MAC and what a way to start, a glitter fest in a bottle!!

Superb is a beautiful Rose gold tone highlight. I am not disappointed with this at all, I am so pleased to have this as part of my kit. It looks beautiful on a range of skin tones and adds beautiful light to the skin without being super sparkly or shiny looking.

Next is Everything that glitters, a sheer black based polish with micro glitter in magenta, teal blue, silver and gold.
Its just beautiful and opaque in two coats. The glitter is nice and dense and gives fantastic and even coverage. As I mentioned this is my first MAC polish, I hope I haven't started another obession here!!! lol.

I am really pleased with my two purchases from the collection and super excited to use them over the festive season.

Are there any items you will picking up before Christmas?

Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer...........

I am a massive fan of foundation primers. Having combination skin means that I can end up with my foundation slipping, especially in warmer weather or humid conditions.

My current favorite is the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer.

What I like about this primer and what makes it a little different to others is the texture.
It isnt the usual silicone based primer, it has more of a creamy texture that feels more like applying a dry moisturizer.

I find that the primer leaves my skin with a lovely matte finish, it also makes an imperfections look less obvious. It doesn't cover them by any means just somehow disguises them.

You dont need to leave any time in between applying the primer and your foundation, I always apply mine straight away. I like that there is no dilly dallying around and that I can get on with my makeup routine.
My foundation applies smoothly over the primer, with no dragging or patchiness.

I find that with the primer my foundation really will last all day, no matter how hot or bothered I get. As I have said before, I work in a hair salon and it gets very hot and humid, even in the winter months, with this primer tho, its never a problem.

The primer costs £11.99 from drugstores, a fair price in my opinion. Even tho it is on the higher end of what we would expect to pay for a drugstore primer, it really delivers quality and results of a much more expensive product.

What are your favorite Primers? Have you tried this one? What do you think?

Coastal Scents Brush Wrap......

AS a beauty blogger, from time to time I am sent items to try out and review.
I was lucky enough to be sent a 12 piece set of Coastal Scents from beautystore4u.co.uk
The set has a total of 12 brushes giving you all the brushes to complete a full face of makeup. It also comes in a leatherette style brush roll.

The brushes are made from a mixture of Goat and Sable hair ( so make sure you wash them before you use them!!) The concealer and liner brush are Synthetic fibers.

I think this palette for some one just starting out in makeup is ideal, you really do have everything that you could need for a full face of makeup. You have face brushes for powder and blush, a fan brush for cleaning up or highlighters, mascara and brow groomers and spoolies and a selection of eye brushes.

This little pencil brush is my favorite from the collection. Its super soft and blends colours on my lower lash line perfectly.

This set costs  just £9.95, and I must admit that it feels much better quality than the price tag would make you think. The brushes are soft and not at all scratchy like we would normally expect from cheaper brushes.

My only criticism would be that the leatherette pouch has that tell tale fragrance of PVC, lol. I found that once I had washed my brushes they were perfect and after leaving the pouch open on my side for a few days the smell had vanished from that too.

So if you are looking for a good quality, reasonably priced brush roll for either yourself or a gift, this is a good place to start.

You can have a better look here hbeautystore4u.co.uk
