Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes, a review.................

One of my all time favourite Mascars is Hypnose by Lancome. I have used I don't know how many tubes of it over the years. Until about 18months ago it was all I would use. It was about this time that I started flirting with other Mascaras and brands.

Last year at one of the promotion days in Debenhams I picked up a box set of two mascaras from Lancome. One was my beloved Hypnose and the 2nd was the Hypnose Doll Eyes.

Until a few weeks ago, they have been sitting sealed in the box as I have been working my way through others.

I have been using the Doll Eyes for a few weeks now and I have to admit that I am a little on the fence about it.

The main difference with this and the original Hypnose is the brush, Its a long cone brush designed to give the most definition to your outer lashes and the 'Doll' apperance. As brushes go, its OK, not my favourite but no where near the worse I have tried.

The main reason that I am on the fence is the formula. It is builadble which I like from a mascara and leaves my lashes feeling a little flexible which I also like. My main issue is that I have been getting terrible transfer and smudging with it.
This is something that I never have had with the original and so I am feeling a little disapointed with this mascara as a whole.
At just over £20 I dont really expect a mascara to transfer.

So for now my heart still belongs to Hypnose.

Hqave you tried Doll Eyes? What did you think?

Revlon Jelly NOTD................

NOTD time again.......

Jelly and Grapefruit Fizz

Jelly is the first polish I have tried from Revlons Top Speed range and I have to say that I am really impressed. It applied beautifully and dried quickly. A little obvious to say I know but judging on past experiences with speed dry polishes it isnt always the case.

Jelly is a really pretty coral pink in a cream formula. To add a little interest I decided to add an accent nail in Grapfruit fizz, one of the fragranced range again from Revlon.
I really can not explain to you just how lovely this polish smells, lol, Im not sure about grapefruit but it smells delicious.
The colour its self is very sheer, it just adds a delicate sparkle to my ring finger.

Have you tried either of these polishes?? What did you think?

China Glaze Neon madness.............

I wanted to share with you some China Glaze polishes that I have picked up over the last couple of months.
As I have mentioned more than once, I am loving all things neon this year.
So I decided to be brave and get a couple of colours a little out of my comfort zone.

The four shades I picked up are...

Techno, Orange Knockout, In The Lime light, Celtic Sun

Techno is a clear base with halo gillter and larger hexs running through. Because of my addiction to all things sparkly I had to pick this up.

Orange Knockout is excatly that. A gorgeous Neon orange that is just so pretty. I have worn this on my toes several times since I picked it up, I just love how cheerful it is. The added bonus is that it makes you look super tanned too!!

In The Limelight is one of the shades out of my comfort zone. I do love greens, I have just never tried a shade like this before. I think I will have to try this on my toes first to break myself in gently, lol.

Celtic Sun is a gorgeous traditional neon yellow. I have a similar shade but wanted to pick this up as I prefer the finish and consistancy. I do think that China Glaze do neons the best!!!

So these are the polishes I have picked up recntly.
What colours are you being drawn to this season???

My first Bare Minerals and a new Buxom Gloss...................

As a dedicated lover of all things beauty and makeup related, I am a little embarrassed to admit that I have never tried anything from Bare Minerals.
When I was in Brighton a couple of months ago, I visited the Brighton Bare Minerals Boutique.
I initially went in to have a look at the 'Ready To Wear' Collection.

Although there were some beautiful colours in the collection, I settled on 2 of the original mineral powder shadows. I also picked up another of the Buxom Lip glosses.

Starting with the gloss, I choose the shade Tonya, a beautiful bright coral pink shade.
I have one of the Buxom glosses already, and they are bar far one of my all time favourite lip glosses EVER!! lol, a bold statement I know, but I really do love these glosses.
They offer a plumping action in addition to gorgeous colour pay off and long wear time.

Tonya

Next on to the shadows. I chose two shades, One the most popular shade that Bare Minerals make ( The lovely consultant told me this, lol) and the 2nd a beautiful summery colour that I couldn't resist

Nude Beach and Chameleon

Nude beach is such a pretty colour, I can totally see why its such a popular colour, its a lovely champagne beige shade with delicate shimmer. I can not believe the texture of the shadows, they are so soft to use and milled beautifully.

Next is Chameleon, a blue/green/gold shade. The name describes this colour perfectly. Its a real chameleon of a colour, it changes in both the light and varies depending what colours you pare it with. It really is a beautiful colour.

I have wore these eye shadows a couple of times and am enjoying experimenting with them. I find that they wear really nicely through the day and don't crease.
The shadows are £14 each, I think that this price is very reasonable as looking at the quantity of product you get, they are going to last for a long long time.

You can buy Bare Minerals at selected department stores, In Bare Minerals Boutiques and On line direct.

Do you have any recommendations for me from Bare Minerals?
What do you think I should try next?

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser, A miracle worker.............

I have mentioned before about my never ending search for the perfect concealer.
A concealer that I was keen to get my hand son and try was the Instant Age Rewind Eraser from Maybelline.
As its not available here in the UK this was one of the first things I grabbed when I was in Walgreens in Vegas.

The concealer comes with a small dome shaped sponge applicator that I personally really like. I love how soft and gentle it feels under my eyes and doesn't drag the skin.

I choose the shade 20 as I wanted to use the concealer to help disguise my dark circles.
It really doest hide them without caking or creasing.
It has a beautiful light texture that offers far more cover than you would first assume.

I have been blown away with this concealer and really enjoy using it daily.

I really hope that this will soon be available here in the UK as I am sure that may of you would love it.
I have recently bought two backups ( One the same colour and the second in the Brightening shade) from a US seller on EBay. I paid around £7.00 with I feel is pretty comparable to what I would expect to pay here.

What are your favourite concealers? What do you think I should try next?

Models Own Matte Lip Colour...............

As you know, I am having a love affair with lipstick. Because of this I am always looking for something new.
I recently spotted the Models Own Matt Hyper Brite range of lipsticks when I was browsing in Boots.
This colour, Pink Hawaiian really grabbed me.
Especially with my love of all things bright and neon this year.

As you can see its a super bright coral pink. It reminds me a bit of MAC's Impassioned, What do you think?
I have only worn this a couple of times and so far I love the formula, It is long lasting, has great colour pay off and leaves my lips feeling soft and comfortable.

I will share this with you in a look of the day very soon :))

The lipsticks cost £5.00 and can be bought at selected branches of Boots and ModelsOwnIt.com.

Have you tried these?? What colours do you like?

Arch De Triumph................

As a massive Soap&Glory fan, I decided to try out there brow pencil when my old faithful had seen better days.
Arch De Triumph comes in a single shade, Taupe/Buff and is complete with a highlighting pencil at the other end.

The texture of this pencil is quite different to what I had expected, It almost has a waxy texture to it. I think this is what makes it long lasting and natural looking. The brow shade is buildable so those with both darker and fairer brows would be able to use this.

The highlight shade is a soft crayon that gives super pigmented colour.
Below are some tips that Soap&Glory recommend when using the highlighter.

I have also used the highlighter as a eye shadow base, inner eye highlight and above my cupids bow.
The highlight shade may not be as suitable for those with with darker skin tones, it does blend beautifully tho so I would still recommend trying it, if only as a inner eye highlight or shadow base.

The pencil is one of the jumbo sizes and so needs a large sharpener, just a tip so you don't get caught out.....
I do think that I will run out of the brow pencil long before the highlighter as I like to keep a good point for my brows to keep them looking light.

The pencil costs £8 and is available from selected branches of Boots and On line, to see more about Soap&Glory cosmetics you can visit there web site.

Once again, Soap&Glory have won my heart.

Orly Beach Cruiser NOTD............

My NOTD is from Orly's Feel The Vibe Summer collection. Its the turn of the neon pink.

This is Beach Cruiser

Of all neon shades, Pink is without a doubt my favourite. And this is no exception. I adore the colour and the brush of these polishes is lovely to work with. I did need to used 3 coats to get a opaque finish and in some lights, my nail line was still a little visible so four coats may of been better.

However I would still recommend this polish very highly as its such a lovely polish to use and makes nail painting really enjoyable, no matter how crazy that may or may not sound, lol.

I also love just how bright this polish is, a simple joy to behold.

What are your favourite neon shades???

Build Your Own Palette from Urban Decay................

Something that I am sure you will all of heard of recently is the new Build Your Own Palette system from Urban Decay. UD have also reformulated there already fab eye shadow collection.

The palette contains enough space for 6 shadows and comes complete with your first shadow and a flat shadow brush.

The style of the single shadow packaging is the same just in a new shiny pewter case. What is different is the way the colours come out of there individual cases and can be slotted into your custom palette.

You know what this means......
NO MORE DE POTTING!!!!!!!! Yyyyyyyaaaaaaayyyyyy. Lol.

As well as my palette I picked up one other shadow to add to it, the shade I chose is called Suspect.

Suspect

Walk of Shame and Suspect

As you can see in the swatch above, Walk Of Shame that comes in the palette is a nude matte shade that will be great for blending out and your brow bone. In the pan it looks very similar to the infamous Brulee from MAC.

The palette costs £14 the same as a single eyeshadow.
I got mine from my UD stand in Debenhams in Brighton ( The consultant was fab by the way!!!). You can pick this up from all god department stores and on line nationwide.

What colours do you think I should add next?????

Sleek Amped...............

As you may or may not know, I am all about bright lips this summer.

I have been hooked on this trend more than I ever thought I would be. When I was having a little look through my lippys the other day I noticed this little gem that I picked up last year.
The shade I am talking about is Amped from Sleek.

It is a Matte finish lipstick with a real punch of colour. Its a blue toned pink leaning towards a purple.
The lasting power on this lipstick is fantastic, a real winner. And being a matte you would assume that it may be a little drying on the lips, The bonus with this colour is that it really isn't.

I have worn this with a thick black eye liner several times recently. It gives a everyday look that something special and makes a plain outfit that little bit more, I don't know, alive, lol.

Sleek Make up is available from selected branches of Superdrug and On line. They also do international delivery!!!

At just £4.00 I really don't think that you can wrong with this lipstick, especially if you are looking for something a little different and a little special.

What is your favourite lip trend this summer????

Essie Watermelon NOTD.....................

Another day, another nail lol.

Today its back to my favourite brand, Essie and the shade I decided on when watching Dirty Dancing......
This is Watermelon (in honour of Baby)

This is one of the diffusion line of Essie's from Boots and Superdrug and so has the flatter brush. At first I wasn't a fan but I'm coming round!!!
This shade is completely opaque in two coats and wears brilliantly.
I think its really fun for the summer and looks great on fingers and toes alike.

If you are a little scared of a full on red this may be the colour for you.

Have a great day!!!
